After one of the best weekends for a recruit in recent history, DJ Steward receives an offer from Indiana basketball.

It was another busy weekend for recruits this weekend as they attended the Nike EYBL event in Indianapolis, where one prospect ended his event with an Indiana basketball offer.

DJ Steward, playing with MeanStreets (IL) on the AAU circuit, had one of the best weekends in recent history for a recruit, having many teams extending offers to the class of 2020 guard, including Indiana.

A four-star recruit, Steward is ranked just 106th on 247Sports Composite rankings, but No. 58 on 247’s site alone.

Averaging 21.0 points per game coming into this weekend, Steward had a breakout performance that included three games over 29 points. With an average of 30.8 points per game, it included a 37-point as well as 46-point performance that included a game-winner. Shooting 48.4 percent form the field on the weekend, he is now shooting 51.4 percent on the young AAU season, and averaging 25.9 points per game, good enough for fifth on the D1 Circuit.

Standing 6-foot-3, Steward is a physical combo guard who can score in multiple ways, and in bunches. A terrific shooter, he is still developing more of a consistent shot off the dribble, whereas he is lethal off of catch and shoot opportunities. Shooting 36 percent from three this season, he had three games this past weekend with multiple made threes, including five in his final performance. Still a shooting form that is a work in progress, he tends to have a low release and pushes the ball up to the rim. If he can round that out, look for his percent to continue to rise.

With a flashy transition game and ability to get to the free throw line, his all-around scoring ability is what has coaches extremely interested.

Wake Forest was the first school to offer Steward following the weekend performance then Indiana, included on a long list of schools that are following him. As of now his recruitment is pretty wide open, with offers from Iowa, Northwestern, Illinois, Louisville, Notre Dame, Iowa State, Texas, Xavier, Marquette, Creighton, and Loyola-Chicago.
