Indiana Basketball: Former Hoosier guard earns honors in FIBA Europe Cup

Former Indiana basketball guard Jordan Hulls finished his sixth professional season and though they fell just short of a title, he earned some honors along the way.

A long way from home, Bloomington native and former Indiana basketball guard Jordan Hulls just finished his first season for s.Oliver Wurzburg, part of the Bundesliga and FIBA Europe Cup, and brought home a top honor.

Hulls was voted the Best Guard in the Euro Cup after leading his club, Wurzburg, to a FIBA Euro Cup finals appearance.

Voted on by fans, Hulls ran away with the award, making up 27.7 percent of the total in the category, with 2,918 votes. Runner-up Dardan Berisha of Z Mobile Prishtina, had 2,174 votes and 20.6 percent of the vote, while UNET Holon’s Corey Walden received 1,459 votes and finished in third with 13.8 percent.

Averaging 14.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists in the FIBA Europe Cup while shooting 52.5 percent, Hulls only scored in single-digits one time over the course of the season.

Playing for an historic club, names such as Dirk Nowitzki and Max Kleber got their careers started for s.Oliver Wurzburg before taking their talents to the NBA.

Hulls, who graduated from Indiana in 2013, averaged 9.8 points, 2.7 assists and shot 44.2 percent from three in 135 games (121 starts) in his Indiana career.
