Indiana basketball signee Trayce Jackson-Davis was awarded the Indiana Mr. Basketball award on Sunday.
Trayce Jackson-Davis was named Indiana’s Mr. Basketball on Sunday, joining Romeo Langford as the second straight Indiana basketball recruit to win the award.
One of four finalists, Jackson-Davis was given the honor over New Castle’s Luke Bumbalough, a Ball State commit, Valparaiso’s Brandon Newman, a Purdue commit, and fellow Indiana basketball signee Armaan Franklin from Indianapolis Cathedral.
For Jackson-Davis this is just one of many honors he has received throughout his stellar senior season at Center Grove.
The five-star recruit, per 247Sports, averaged 22.0 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game while shooting 61.7 percent from the field during his senior year.
Also named a McDonald’s All-American and Jordan Brand All-Star, he led Center Grove to a regional championship for just the second time in school history.
The son of former NBA player Dale Davis, Jackson-Davis has a stellar interior game with an improving mid-range game. A tremendous rebounder, and high IQ guy, he will be a force throughout his career in the Big Ten.
Jackson-Davis is excited to get to Bloomington and is focused solely on bringing a winning culture back to Indiana basketball, telling Insidethehall.com, “I want to go to college and then I’ll stay there as long as I need to… I’m just worried about college right now, making my team better, making my teammates better around me and being a good teammate.”
Jackson Davis is currently ranked 18th in the country according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
