Indiana Basketball: Latest Crystal Ball trend for Trendon Watford
By Alec Lasley
One of the last remaining Indiana basketball targets in the 2019 class has his recruitment trending elsewhere.
One of the lone five-star recruits left to commit in the 2019 class, Trendon Watford and the Indiana basketball program me be trending in different directions.
The Hoosiers, who had an in-home visit with the Alabama native two weeks ago, have been make a big push over the last month after resurfacing in his recruitment, but it all seems to be dying down.
As recent as Monday night, the lead recruiter for Watford for 247Sports, Brian Snow, put in his Crystal Ball for the LSU Tigers (Snow has a 94.9 percent accuracy rate).
Recently, that has been the trend in Watford’s recruitment and Snow’s pick may be the icing on the cake for the Tigers.
The favorite to land the 6-foot-9 forward up until the FBI investigation came out with more information on head coach Will Wade a couple of weeks ago, the Tigers seem to be securely in the driver’s seat.
Watford had this to say about the Tigers and his relationship with head coach Will Wade in an interview with Rivals’ Eric Bossi at the Jordan Brand All-Star Game.
"“You know coach Wade has been on me strong ever since he got the job. Also coach (Bill) Armstrong has been recruiting me very hard so I have a close relationship with him. But ever since (Wade) got reinstated he’s been in contact with me a lot and we are going from there.”"
For what it’s worth, during Monday’s testimony in the FBI trial, new information came out regarding Wade and LSU.
