The Indiana basketball program continues their heavy recruiting week by setting an in-home visit with Indiana’s top ranked recruit.

On the road for most of the week, Archie Miller and Indiana basketball continue to make strides with the 2020 recruiting class.

Setting an in-home visit with top ranked in-state prospect Anthony Leal, this is the first major development in their recruitment of the 2020 guard.

The in-home visit will take place on Monday, according to Jon Blau, following one of the first AAU events of the season.

Leal, a 6-foot-5 wing, is the top ranked player in Indiana, and ranked No. 82 in the country according to 247Sports Composite rankings. As of now he has offers from numerous schools including Maryland, Xavier, Stanford, Iowa, Butler, and Northwestern. Indiana and Virginia are two schools that are very interested but have yet to offer.

Taking one official visit as of now to Stanford, Leal’s recruitment is starting to heat up after a terrific junior season. He averaged 25.0 points per game along with 5.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists while leading Bloomington South to the Elite Eight in the state playoffs.

While Indiana has a great chance of landing Leal, being the hometown kid, an offer may be the only thing he needs to hear to commit. Virginia, though,  is an interesting team to keep an eye on as his recruitment continues to develop.

Said about Tony Bennett and Virginia, “It was a great season bouncing back from last year. I really like the way they prioritize defense and have a close-knit team. They have a kid from Indiana, Kyle Guy, that just won Most Outstanding Player. They have an amazing coaching staff.”

As you know, Kyle Guy grew up and idolized Indiana basketball, but Tony Bennett was able to steal him away, something he will try to do with Leal as well.
