Indiana Basketball: See where the Hoosiers rank in this way-too-early top 25
By Alec Lasley
With rosters still in flux, the way-too-early top 25 rankings for next season have started coming out, and this one has Indiana basketball ranked.
While most other way-too-early top 25 rankings have Indiana basketball absent, Bleacher Report includes the Hoosiers in their top 25.
Coming in at No. 22 in the rankings, Indiana is ranked ahead of Florida, Oregon, and Texas, who round out the top 25.
Indiana, who returns a lot of their rotational players from this past season, does lose 44.8 percent of their scoring, with their only two double-figure scorers leaving (Langford, Morgan).
The leading returning scorer for the Hoosiers is senior-to-be guard Devonte Green at 9.4 points per game, and he just recently announced yesterday his intention to test the waters, and declare for the NBA draft.
For a team that struggled to score all of last season, this ranking does seem high due to the lack of experience and consistency as go-to players.
Other Big Ten teams listed in the rankings are Michigan State (No. 1), Michigan (No. 4), Ohio State (No. 11), Maryland (No. 15), and Iowa (No. 17).
Indiana, who was in the top 25 for several weeks this past season, missed out on the tournament for the third straight year.
While they still have many openings and question marks with their roster, names like Trendon Watford, Joey Brunk, Lester Quinones, and Anthony Harris can definitely make an impact next season.
