Defensive Potential

One part of Romeo Langford’s game that I think people tend to overlook or undervalue is his defensive potential. I have already mentioned his great proportions for a two guard, but at times this year, he flashed incredible defensive instincts.

Langford also had a great defensive sequence versus R.J. Barrett in that game, where he completely walled up Barrett going to his strong hand and blocked him.

Langford’s main issue on defense lies in his effort.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not one of the people who thinks Romeo is a lazy player. It is perfectly common for young players who were high school hotshots to struggle on defense in the NBA and develop a true desire to master that end of the floor.

If he bulks up a little bit, he could potentially guard 1-3 effectively.

Because of his athleticism, his body, and some of the instincts he possesses, I think there’s a chance to see great things from him on defense in a few years.
