Indiana Basketball: Jake Forrester announces his intention to transfer
By Alec Lasley
A third member of the Indiana basketball program has announced his intention to transfer and explore his options elsewhere.
Announced today, Jake Forrester intends to transfer from the Indiana basketball program and explore his options elsewhere, per Jeff Rabjohns.
Forrester now becomes the third Hoosier to transfer, along with Clifton Moore, and Vijay Blackmon.
The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 2.1 points, 1.3 rebounds and 4.2 minutes per game in 13 games played this year.
Just a freshman, Forrester will have to sit out one year and then have three years of eligibility remaining.
The Pennsylvania native is a former three-star prospect, ranked 148th in the country in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
It’s unclear where he will end up, but Pitt, Seton Hall, and Xavier were just a couple of the schools that had interest in him before he committed to Indiana.
Forrester had a season-high of eight points against Central Arkansas, and four rebounds (twice) against Chicago State and Michigan State.
The Hoosiers now have two scholarship spots available for the 2019-20 season, with the departures of Juwan Morgan and Evan Fitzner being filled by Trayce Jackson-Davis and Armaan Franklin, and the departures of Clifton Moore and Forrester. Obviously there is the possibility for at least one more spot if freshman guard Romeo Langford declares for the NBA Draft.
Indiana is still in the running for recruits Trendon Watford and Harlond Beverly, as well as Butler graduate transfer Joey Brunk.
