Indiana basketball is one of the favorites to land graduate transfer Joey Brunk after conducting one of his first two in-home visits.

Announced earlier this week, Butler big man Joey Brunk has decided to leave the program and transfer elsewhere. One of which places that has his interest is the Indiana basketball program.

According to reports from IndyStar, Brunk had two in-home visits over the weekend that included Indiana, an early favorite to land the center.

The Hoosiers are just one of multiple programs who have reached out to Brunk, including Ole Miss, which conducted his other in-home visit.

An Indianapolis native, Brunk averaged 7.6 points and 3.6 rebounds this season for Butler while shooting 61.7 percent from the field in 18.6 minutes per game.

Only starting in 13 of 33 games this year, Brunk played well when he saw extended action. In six games where he played over 24 minutes, he scored in double-figures five times, averaging 14.2 points a game.

In Indiana’s matchup against Butler earlier this season, Brunk had eight points and five rebounds in 23 minutes.

At 6-foot-11 and 230 pounds, his big body and frame would be a great help to a rather smaller front court for Indiana, and now with the departure of Clifton Moore, the Hoosiers have another scholarship to play with.

Ranked just 195th in the NCAA in offensive rebounds per game, Brunk would bring a much needed help to Indiana on the offensive glass, as he has a career offensive rebounding rate of 11.8 percent when healthy.

Don’t expect Brunk to make a quick decision as he will most likely make a top list of the schools he will consider, but Indiana is surely one of the top suitors for the Butler transfer.
