3. Shooting

Indiana found out the hard way about what the lack of shooting can do to your offense.

One of the worst three point shooting teams in the country, ranked 317th in the NCAA, the Hoosiers shot just 31.2 percent from deep.

Having just two people shoot over 35 percent, they had three of their top five shooters shoot less than 30 percent from deep.

With a lack of shooting from the outside and not a dominant post game, it was a a struggle to score the ball on the offensive end.

Averaging just 27 percent from three in conference play, that was a major reason for their downfall, putting up just 66 points per game which was ranked 12th in the Big Ten.

Not only was this evident in the amount of three’s they made per game (6.0), but also in the total attempts. Ranked 285th in three pointers attempted on the season, every Indiana opponent had the blue print for beating them; sag off and let them shoot.

With only one real confident and capable shooter on the roster, they put undo pressure on their defense to try to keep them alive in games, often times falling just a couple possessions short.

With another offseason upon us, I think every player knows what they need to work on in the summer, and that is shooting.
