Though Indiana basketball had an up-and-down season there was still some good to takeaway and look forward to for next year.

In what was a whirlwind of a season for the Indiana basketball program, the Hoosiers close the book on what could be a bit of a disappointing year.

A lot of good and bad will be taken away from the 2018-19 season, as well as a lot to remember.

The Hoosiers, unranked to start the year, spent a lot of the non-conference season in the rankings, starting 12-2 on the season. That was the good.

The bad?

Indiana went the next 13 games of the season only winning one of them. Yes you read that right, just one win. That streak came back to bite them when they lost in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament in what was essentially a play-in/play-out game for the NCAA Tournament against Ohio State.

Playing in the NIT is when we got to see what the backcourt of Indiana could look like next season if Romeo Langford does indeed forego his remaining three years of college for the NBA – which is likely. What we saw was a lot of positives from the playmaking of Rob Phinisee and the scoring ability of Devonte Green.

While a lot of people may want to throw away the season and never look back, there was a lot to takeaway from this year.

Here are our five takeaways from the 2018-19 season for Indiana basketball.
