Indiana Basketball: Clifton Moore to transfer from the program
By Alec Lasley
Indiana basketball forward Clifton Moore is transferring from the program and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
According to Rivals, sophomore Clifton Moore will be leaving the Indiana basketball program to transfer elsewhere.
The 6-foot-9 forward will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out next season, according to the NCAA rules.
A former three-star recruit, Moore averaged 1.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 4.1 minutes per game this season.
The Pennsylvania native played in just 15 games this year, and just 24 games in his Indiana career totaling 105 minutes played.
As it stands now, the Hoosiers have one scholarship spot available for the 2019 season, with the departures of Juwan Morgan and Evan Fitzner being filled by Trayce Jackson-Davis and Armaan Franklin. Obviously there is the possibility for at least one more spot if freshman guard Romeo Langford declares for the NBA Draft.
Still in the running for Trendon Watford, Lester Quinones, Harlond Beverly and a handful of possible transfers, Indiana will now have that open scholarship to play with.
Indiana lost to Wichita State in the NIT Quarterfinals on Tuesday night ending their 2018-19 season, and beginning the rumor mill of possible transfers.
Having not seen much action over the course of his first two seasons under Archie Miller, a lot of rumors were going around, after their loss to Wichita State, that a transfer would be possible from Moore.
Looking to next year, the Hoosiers front court will consist of De’Ron Davis, Race Thompson, Justin Smith, Damezi Anderson, Jake Forrester, and Jerome Hunter – if healthy – returning.
