Five-star recruit Trendon Watford named Indiana basketball in his final five schools as his recruitment winds down.

During the McDonald’s All-American game, Trendon Watford said in an interview that he is limiting his recruitment to five schools, including the Indiana basketball program.

After the game, he took to twitter to stand by his statement.

The No. 27 overall prospect in the 2019 class according to 247Sports Composite rankings, Watford recently ‘readjusted’ his recruitment after the firing of Avery Johnson at Alabama, and the FBI investigation surrounding Will Wade and LSU.

The good news for Indiana is there had been very little communication throughout his recruiting process but have now rekindled the relationship, sitting in a much different place in his recruitment than a month ago.

As discussed earlier this week, Duke is an interesting team to keep an eye on as they have yet to even offer him a scholarship.

The 6-foot-9 forward from Alabama is a highly skilled and versatile player with good size and length (7-foot-4 wingspan). His frame has continued to grow over the last few years, helping him become a scoring threat from anywhere on the floor.

Though he has the size of a forward, he has the skillset of a guard, being able to create for teammates. With good awareness and IQ combined with his ball-handling ability, Watford is a player who can impact the game in many ways on the offensive end.

Watford sticks with his decision timeline to be April 20 at the Jordan Brand All-Star Game.

If he were to come to Bloomington, he would join a 2019 recruiting class of fellow five-star forward Trayce Jackson-Davis and three-star guard Armaan Franklin.
