Conclusion

Don’t get me wrong, I love Romeo Langford and I would be thrilled to see him back in Assembly Hall for one more year. I think another year may even benefit him more than jumping to the NBA. Langford’s talent and athleticism is off the charts, and success for him may just be a matter of mindset and maturity.

But the backcourt of Rob Phinisee and Devonte Green in the NIT has me excited for the offense next season in the likely situation Langford goes pro. There is potential for better chemistry, better ball movement, and more overall coherency.

We know what Rob Phinisee is and that he’ll come back even better from a productive offseason, but Devonte Green is the X-factor in what could be a make or break year for Archie Miller. We’ll see how it all plays out.
