Indiana basketball freshman guard Romeo Langford will miss his second straight game due to a back injury.

Indiana basketball’s star freshman will miss his second straight game with a back injury when the Hoosiers take on Arkansas on Saturday, per sources.

The projected lottery pick missed their NIT opener against St. Francis (PA), a result of the injury he suffered in the Big Ten Tournament game against Ohio State.

Langford, who played in the first 32 games of the season, is averaging 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game this season.

There is no timetable for his return, although it is expected that if he is able to go, he will, as the Hoosiers advance in the tournament.

The two biggest pro prospects in this game will now be out of the lineup as Langford joins Arkansas’ Daniel Gafford, who announced last week that he would be sitting out the NIT in order to get ready for the NBA Draft.

In their first matchup this season, Langford had one of his best games of the year, finishing with 22 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Without him, Al Durham will have another chance to step up, building on his career-high 22 points on Tuesday. In their initial matchup, the sophomore finished with 11 points and three assists.

Devonte Green, who didn’t play in their first matchup due to an injury, will look to continue his good play of late – 15.6 points per game in their last five games – and slide into the off guard slot in the starting lineup.
