Indiana Basketball: Romeo Langford “day-to-day” with back stiffness
By Alec Lasley
Indiana basketball’s star freshman, Romeo Langford, is day-to-day with back stiffness, ahead of Tuesday’s first round NIT matchup.
During Archie Miller’s news conference today, a lot was discussed, including the health of Indiana basketball’s star freshman, Romeo Langford.
Coach Miller didn’t go into a lot of detail about the injury, but did say that Langford was “day-to-day” but expected him to play in Tuesday’s NIT opener against St. Francis (Pa.)
During their last game against Ohio State, Langford had to leave the floor and head to the locker room, all assumptions pointing towards some kind of back soreness.
At certain points in the game, you could see him grimacing as he ran up and down the court, grabbing it at times, even adjusting the way he was standing and sitting to try and alleviate some of the discomfort.
After the game, reporters asked Langford about his back, but all he had to say was his back was “fine”.
This isn’t the first time he has dealt with back issues, as back spasms limited Langford in the summer after his junior season in high school during his time with USA Basketball at the FIBA World Cup.
All signs point to the star freshman playing, and rumors were already addressed about him sitting out the NIT in preparation of the 2019 NBA Draft, so look for Langford to be out on the court and play his normal minutes on Tuesday.
If anything else is to arise, we will update you, but at this time it doesn’t seem to be a serious issue.
