The Hoosiers look to build onto their four game win streak to improve their tournament odds. This is essentially a play-in game for the NCAA tournament for both Ohio State and Indiana.

Indiana has been hot just at the right time beating Wisconsin, Michigan State, Illinois and Rutgers. Concurrently, Ohio State is on a three game skid after getting stomped by Purdue and Northwestern and coming up just short in their comeback efforts against Wisconsin.

Indiana and Ohio State are both slated as either a “last four in” or “first four out” team in almost every bracketology measurement. This makes for a fantastic game as the winner will likely make the tournament while the loser will most likely have their hearts broken on Selection Sunday.

In the only regular season matchup at Assembly Hall, Ohio State prevailed by a score of 55-52.

Led by Andre Wesson in that contest with 15 points, including the game winning dunk, the Buckeyes shot 44 percent from the field. This was an unfortunate loss as the Buckeyes hit two three pointers with the shot clock running down, down the stretch.

However, this is a different Indiana team than a month ago. They are playing well and with confidence. The offense has been free flowing recently, as opposed to the 21 point first half that IU had last time out versus the Buckeyes.

After a three game suspension, Ohio State big man Kaleb Wesson will return to action against the Hoosiers.

Indiana has to shut down the tandem of Kaleb and Andre Wesson in the post – combining for 25 points and eight rebounds in their first matchup – with De’Ron Davis needing to take a big role on Thursday.

The Hoosiers duo of Rob Phinisee and Devonte Green will need to continue their stellar play on the defensive end as of late, dealing with C.J Jackson from behind the arc, where he’s shooting it over 38 percent from deep.

If Indiana can control the glass and tempo of the game, they can win against Ohio State.

Look out for senior Juwan Morgan to have another big game with the entire team contributing lately.

If Indiana gets a win over Ohio State, this may be enough to make the NCAA tournament.
