Indiana Basketball: Juwan Morgan named Big Ten Player of the Week
By Alec Lasley
After a dominating week, including Senior day, Indiana basketball forward Juwan Morgan was named the Co-Big Ten Player of the week for last week.
The Indiana basketball program continues to be in the news, this time for Juwan Morgan receiving Big Ten honors.
Morgan, the senior forward, ended his regular season on a high note, earning Big Ten Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.
In a pair of wins for the Hoosiers, Morgan averaged 22.5 points while shooting 71.4 percent from the floor, and grabbed 8.0 rebounds in wins over Illinois and Rutgers.
Highlighted by his senior day performance against Rutgers, Morgan went for 25 points on 11-of-13 shooting in their 89-73 win.
The last time a Hoosiers player received a Big Ten Player of the Week award was Dec 17, which was also earned by Morgan.
Minnesota’s Amir Coffey shared in the honors as Co-Big Ten Player of the Week.
The Hoosiers turn their attention to the Big Ten Tournament this week as they face the No. 9 seeded Ohio State Buckeyes on Thursday at 12:30 pm EST, looking to keep their winning streak going.
Currently as one of Joe Lunardi’s “First Four Out” on ESPN’s Bracketology, if Indiana is able to get a win over the Buckeyes, it looks like they will be in the final field come Sunday, but a win against Michigan State on Friday would end all doubts about their bubble.
