In another historic season, Teri Moren has Indiana women’s basketball projected to be a 10-seed in the NCAA Tournament,
In what has been a terrific season for the Indiana women’s basketball team, they are now projected in the NCAA Tournament field.
A projected 10-seed, Indiana would make the NCAA Tournament for just the sixth time in program history, and first since 2016.
Coming off of a 23-14 record last season which brought an NIT Championship to Bloomington, the Hoosiers have been in and out of the top 25 for most of the last couple of months, ranked for just the fifth time in program history, following their 14-1 start to the season.
Now 18-10 (7-9), Indiana holds wins over two ranked opponents in No. 10 Iowa and No. 15 Michigan State.
At 11th in the Big Ten standings currently, over the course of the next two games, they can finish as high as sixth in the conference.
After losing two of the all-time great Indiana women’s players in Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill to graduation, this season was supposed to be a bit of a rebuild, but Teri Moren has done a fantastic job with the team.
Ali Patberg leads one of four Hoosiers in double-digit points per game at 15.6, also adding 5.2 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, followed by Jaelynn Penn at 14.1 points per game.
Indiana has two games left before the Big Ten Tournament, an away game at Northwestern and then senior night against rival Purdue to close the season.
