Indiana basketball lost the lead late in regulation, losing in overtime, after a barrage of threes by Jordan Bohannon.

In what was another great effort by Indiana, they failed to capitalize and execute late, falling to No. 21 Iowa 76-70 on Friday night.

Leading for most of the entirety of the game, Jordan Bohannon hit a three with 21 seconds left to tie the game and eventually send it into overtime following a miss on the other end on a potential buzzer-beater by Romeo Langford.

Scoring nine of his 17 points overtime, and all 17 in the second half, Bohannon once again hit miraculous shots down the stretch to hold off the Hoosiers.

The starting frontline for the Hawkeyes combined for 34 points on 14-of-25 shooting and 17 rebounds utilizing their size advantage to keep the Hawkeyes in the game for most of the second half when it looked like Indiana was taking control of the game.

Indiana, led by Juwan Morgan with 15 points, left a lot of points at the free throw line, finishing 12-of-22 for the game, including going 1-of-2 with 38 seconds left that would have stretched the lead to four, instead keeping it at three resulting in Bohannon’s three to tie it.

Rob Phinisee and Evan Fitzner provided the Hoosiers with a tremendous lift, both having their best games in quite a while.

Phinisee looked as comfortable as he had all season, finishing with 13 points and seven rebounds, his first game in double-figures since Jan. 22. Meanwhile, Evan Fitzner who had all but seen his role disappear as of late, paced the Hoosiers for most of the game, finishing with 11 points, his highest point total and only double-digit outing since Nov. 27 against Duke.

Indiana falls to under – .500 with a 13-14 record (4-12) and have officially had their NCAA Tournament hopes taken away, barring a magical run in the Big Ten tournament.

The Hoosiers return home to face No. 22 Wisconsin on Tuesday.
