Indiana Basketball: Trey Galloway high on the Hoosiers
By Alec Lasley
The class of 2020 guard continues to be intrigued by Indiana basketball after his most recent visit to Bloomington.
A visitor for the Ohio State game, Trey Galloway came away even more impressed with Indiana basketball than he was before.
Making multiple visits to Bloomington as of late, the top-150 prospect from Culver Academy has continually been scouted by Indiana assistant coach Tom Ostrom.
Though the 6-foot-5 guard doesn’t hold an offer from Indiana, the interest is mutual between him and Archie Miller.
Trey’s dad, who also plays as his head coach, had this to say regarding his son’s communication with the Indiana staff.
"“They keep telling me and Trey they’re going to keep recruiting him. They said they’re very interested….. They came to the Cathedral game. We won that game, and Trey did a good job guarding Armaan (Franklin), held him to zero points in the second half. They talked to us that night and invited us down to the Ohio State game.”"
Still with another school year and AAU season to go, Galloway holds numerous offers, including Butler, Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Purdue.
An all-around guard, Galloway leads his team in steals and assists along with being an above average shooter, although he hasn’t shot the ball well recently due to a wrist injury.
The Hoosiers interest has grown even more with recent good performances against the number one team in the country in La Lumiere, going up against Indiana recruit Keion Brooks, as well as Indianapolis Cathedral, where Indiana signee Armaan Franklin plays.
There is still a while to go before Galloway sees himself committing anywhere, as he is looking to lead his team to consecutive State Championships.
