Indiana basketball is still staying heavily involved in the 2019 recruiting class, this time heating up their efforts on one Junior College freshman.

Archie Miller has been all over the country to find a couple more players to round out his 2019 recruiting class, and this time he has entered the Junior College ranks.

Visiting Sinclair Community College the other day, a school at the Division II JUCO ranks, Archie saw first-hand the 6-foot-4 guard in Sean McNeil.

The former Bellarmine commit, McNeil left after just a couple of days of being on campus, later enrolling at Sinclair. As of now, he would have three years of eligibility remaining at the Division 1 level.

Averaging 30.2 points per game, McNeil had held the highest scoring averaging in all of the JUCO ranks for the entire season until this past weekend. He already has six games of 40+ points, including a 55-point performance earlier this season as well.

What exactly would he bring to the Hoosiers? A big guard who can shoot the ball.

Coming from a team that is ranked 298th in the NCAA shooting 31.9 percent from deep, adding a guy like McNeil, who shoots it at a 41 percent rate, would be a huge addition to the Hoosiers.

Currently with seven games of six or more made threes, McNeil not only has a great release, but has outstanding range, extending farther than NBA range.

Most of his action is off of the dribble. With great bounce and elevation, McNeil creates even more separation with his jumpshot with a great jab step.

McNeil isn’t limited to a three point shot though. He has an above average first step, with great ability to get into the paint. One of his biggest assets though, is moving without the ball, creating easy baskets at the rim.

With a good handle, McNeil can also play on the ball as a playmaker for others. His size allows him to see over smaller defenders and with good touch on his passes, he puts a lot of pressure on the opponents.

Indiana is one of 80 schools who have reached out to him. It is still early in his recruitment as he hasn’t narrowed down his list, but if Indiana can make some headway, he’s an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on.
