Indiana Basketball: Hoosiers fall out of ESPN Bracketology
By Alec Lasley
For the first time all season, Indiana basketball is looking in from the outside of the NCAA Tournament in the most recent ESPN Bracketology.
Following the Hoosiers win against No. 6 Michigan State last weekend, they were locked in the tournament as an 11 seed, but after last night’s loss to No. 20 Iowa, they have fallen out.
Now, as one of the teams fighting for a spot in the tournament, every game from here on out is extremely important.
After six of eight games on the road, Indiana finishes the season with five of their last eight games in Bloomington.
Starting Sunday with Ohio State at home, the Hoosiers have six games in a row against either Top 25 teams, or NCAA Tournament teams.
After the Buckeyes, Indiana goes on the road against Minnesota (10 seed), back home against No. 15 Purdue (3 seed), at No. 20 Iowa (6 seed), then play host to both No. 19 Wisconsin (5 seed), and No. 9 Michigan State (2 seed).
With so many resume boosting wins in the coming games, even if the Hoosiers only win half of them, their resume will get much stronger.
As it stands now, Indiana has a resume that includes wins over Michigan State, Marquette, Louisville, all of which are ranked in the top 16 now, and a neutral court win against Butler.
Indiana looks to close out the season strong and make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016.
