The freshman quarterback looks to make an immediate impact in 2019 for the Indiana football program.

An Indianapolis native, Jack Tuttle announced in December that he would be transferring from Utah to Indiana and enroll in the spring semester.

The 6-foot-4 Tuttle played high school football at Mission Hills (California) High School, but did not play for Utah as a true freshman this past season.

In the top 50 transfer rankings that came out yesterday, Tuttle’s move to Indiana comes in at No. 26 on the list. Some notable transfer moves he is ahead of, are Shane Buechele (Texas), Josh Jackson (Virginia Tech), and Brandon Wimbush (ND -> UCF).

The former four-star recruit, and top-five pro-style quarterback, will join Peyton Ramsey and Michael Penix Jr as the quarterbacks on the Hoosiers’ roster that will be in contention for the starting job.

There has yet to be a determination on his eligibility for the fall, so whether or not he can play this upcoming season will be in flux until later notice.

If Tuttle is eligible for this season, it will be much needed depth at the quarterback position as Penix Jr is still recovering from a knee injury suffered in the middle of the season last year.
