The five-star prospect has been an Indiana basketball lean for some time, but is that changing to another school?

The Fort Wayne, Indiana product has been quiet for the last week or two in regards to his recruitment, and it doesn’t look like there will be a decision anytime soon.

It was rumored that Brooks would be committing sometime in the early stages of January but as for now, it looks like we still have some time before the five-star recruit picks his destination.

Indiana has seemed to have the lead in the recruitment, but as of late there seems to be a change in the amount of ‘confidence’ that people around the Hoosiers program have in their chances of landing Brooks.

According to Peegs.com insider, Jeff Rabjohns, Brooks’ still doesn’t have a decision and thus probably won’t be committing anytime soon.

With Michigan State and North Carolina the other two schools rumored to have the best chances of landing him outside of Indiana, each team seems to have their pros and cons.

For the Tar Heels, it’s all about distance. Brooks has been open about saying he would like to stay closer to home, but the draw about playing in Chapel Hill may be able to pull the Indiana native away from his hometown.

Carolina will have minutes available for Brooks to step in immediately with the departures of Cameron Johnson, Luke Maye, Kenny Williams and the assumption that projected lottery pick, Nassir Little will leave as well.

One thing Michigan State has over the other two is the relationship, as coach Tom Izzo has known the Brooks’ family since Keion was in middle school.

Not only does he have that relationship, but also a great relationship with many current players on the Spartans’ roster as well.

Something worth noting, is the fact that Brooks’ didn’t take an official visit to East Lansing, but that could also be attributed to the already built relationships with the Spartans program.

When it comes to the hometown Hoosiers, they have the draw of not only being the closest to Brooks’ family, but also the draw of playing with his best friend in Trayce Jackson-Davis, and another friend in Armaan Franklin.

After the Nebraska loss earlier this month though, there was some talk that Brooks’ parents were taken back by the attacking of players and coaches from the Indiana fans on social media.

Obviously this happens almost everywhere in the country, but it is something worth noting if true.
