The Hoosiers, who have lost their sixth straight Big Ten Conference game, have slipped once again in the newest NCAA tournament bracket predictions.

Indiana is now projected to be the ninth seed in the East region facing the eighth seed, Mississippi State. With a win in the round of 64, their next game would be a rematch against the heavily favored Duke Blue Devils.

Big Ten foe Minnesota, is also predicted to be placed in the East region as the 11th seed facing last years national champions, the Villanova Wildcats.

Joining Indiana as a nine seed in the projections is Florida State, who has also had their fair share of recent struggles, having just snapped their five game losing streak with a win over Clemson. Texas and Washington round out the team predictions at the nine seed in the tournament.

Currently as the nine seed, the Hoosiers have fallen in the ranking projections, where they were at one point projected to be seeded as high as the five seed in the tournament, and have continued to slip as they were the sixth seed in last week’s Bracketology release.

Despite the Hoosiers 23 point loss last night, Michigan’s largest win margin in Assembly Hall ever, ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi still has the Hoosiers included in his most recent rankings at 37.

Indiana will look to bounce back and snap their six game losing streak when the team travels to Rutgers on Wednesday for a 7:00 pm tip-off.

The team will have a chance to regroup and help bolster their tournament resume, with games against the No. 6 Michigan State Spartans and No. 19 Iowa Hawkeyes coming up within the next two weeks.
