Indiana Basketball: Devonte Green did not travel for tonight’s game

The junior guard did not travel to Northwestern for the Indiana Hoosiers’ Big Ten matchup and will miss their game tonight.

Indiana Hoosiers’ guard, Devonte Green, will miss tonight’s matchup against Northwestern, as he didn’t travel to Evanston with the team.

There has been no official word as to why he didn’t travel, as all reports are in their early stages, and there hasn’t been a statement from coach Miller.

For Green, he had been averaging 8.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.

The 6-foot-3 guard had started five games in a row, as Rob Phinisee recovered from his concussion, leading up to the Purdue matchup.

With his absence,  the already depleted Hoosiers will be without an important role player who brought many intangibles to the lineup.

There is no timeline for his return, but if his absence is lengthy, look for Romeo Langford and Al Durham to spend some more time at the point guard position as well.

For the Hoosiers, they sit at 12-6 (3-4) and are in the middle of a four game losing streak, and with the heart of Big Ten play here, this could not come at a worse time.

After their game against Northwestern, they play host to No. 5 Michigan in Bloomington, and then travel to Rutgers, who just knocked off Nebraska at home, after that.

Look for an update closer to gametime as Archie Miller will address the media for his pre game press conference.
