After their third straight loss, Indiana Basketball drops another couple of spots in the newest ESPN Bracketology.

The Hoosiers keep moving in ESPN’s Bracketology, just moving in the wrong direction.

After sliding down to a six seed heading into this week, the Hoosiers have once again fallen, but this time, all the way to an eight seed.

Indiana, who at one time was as high as a a five seed, tinkering on moving to the four line, have lost three in a row dropping three seed lines in the release.

With a matchup against a streaking Kansas State team, the Hoosiers would face the Virginia Cavaliers in the second round, the number one overall seed in the tournament.

In a huge matchup this weekend, the Hoosiers take on cross town rival, Purdue, who has turned their season around since Big Ten play started, and is currently on the six line.

The other teams on the eight line with Indiana are, TCU, Mississippi State, and Big Ten foe Ohio State.

Looking at some of the teams Indiana has played this season, Duke and Michigan are still in as number one seeds, all of Marquette, Nebraska and Maryland are on the five seed line, Louisville is a six seed, and Butler is an 11 seed, as one of the play-in games. In those games the Hoosiers went 3-4.

With an important five game stretch coming up, it will really tell the committee a lot about them.

Four of their next five games on the road, with their lone home game is a rematch with the Michigan Wolverines. Besides Purdue, they also play at Northwestern, who they beat earlier this season, Rutgers, and Michigan State.

Having received 10 bids for the conference, there are still a lot of quality opponents on Indiana’s schedule in which they can use to strengthen their resume.
