Indiana Basketball: Two future Hoosiers nominated for McDAAG
By Alec Lasley
Two future Indiana basketball players were nominated for the McDonald’s All-American Game later this year.
Indiana Basketball looks to continue their tradition of McDonald’s All-American’s on their roster after the 2019 nominees were announced.
Current Hoosier commits, Trayce Jackson-Davis and Armaan Franklin were amongst the nominees, as was current Indiana target, Keion Brooks.
The list reveals the 800 nominees and possible All-Americans for the 42nd McDonald’s All-American game taking place in the State Farm Center in Atlanta on March 27.
The final rosters for the 2019 McDonald’s All-American Game will be revealed on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN’s “The Jump” and at 6 p.m. ET on SportsCenter.
The 18th annual McDonald’s All American Girls Game is on ESPN2 at 5 p.m. ET Wednesday, March 27, with the 42nd annual Boys Game immediately following that will also air on ESPN2.
Trayce Jackson-Davis, from Center Grove high school, is the 16th overall recruit according to the 247 composite rankings, and will be an immediate impact for a Hoosiers team that is lacking a lot in the inside.
The 6-foot-9 forward can run the floor well, has great hands, and can rebound the ball, something Indiana is in desperate need of.
The other Hoosier commit that made the list is Armaan Franklin, from Cathedral high school.
Another local Indiana prospect, Franklin is a three-star prospect that does all the things a team needs in order to be successful. At 6-foot-4, his size and length makes his a great defender and give him the ability to finish through contact in the paint.
Lastly, is Keion Brooks.
Coming down to the wire with his recruitment, Brooks is expected to make his decision any day, deciding between Indiana, Purdue, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Michigan State.
The consensus is that Brooks is an Indiana lean, but there haven’t been a lot of rumblings out of his corner in terms of where he will eventually land.
