Hoosiers will be with their starting point guard tonight as Indiana takes on Maryland in Big Ten play.
After missing the majority of the last four games, starting point guard Robert Phinisee has been medically cleared for the Hoosiers game tonight against Maryland.
It had been thought, after Archie Miller’s press conference on Thursday, that Phinisee would miss another game, still not being medically cleared after suffering a concussion on December 19 against Central Arkansas.
Going 3-1 in his absence, their lone loss came against Michigan last weekend.
Phinisee was averaging 10.3 points a game in his three games leading up to his concussion, becoming much more of a scoring option on the floor than he was earlier in the season.
It is unclear how much Phinisee will play or if he will even start, but he is active so you have to assume the freshman guard will have some role whether it be spotting minutes around media timeouts for Devonte Green, or playing a more significant role.
For junior forward, De’Ron Davis, it looks like he will be active although it is unknown how much time he will see on the court.
The Hoosiers, who have been injury prone all season long, look to be getting their health back for the majority of Big Ten play.
As much as both Phinisee and Davis are needed for tonight’s matchup, their long term health is more important to this team than a victory tonight.
