Indiana Basketball: Hoosiers see little movement in new AP Poll
By Alec Lasley
After the Hoosiers 11 point loss to the Michigan Wolverines over the weekend, Indiana slides slightly in the new AP Top 25.
The Hoosiers, who went 1-1 in the first week of 2019, fell just one spot in the newest release of the AP Top 25.
Ranked no. 21 in the country last week, Indiana showed up at no. 22 after their loss to Michigan.
The very little movement in the poll shows how respected the Hoosiers resume and performance up to this point has been, regardless of their loss over the weekend.
After starting off in a large hole early in the game, thanks to two fouls on both Juwan Morgan and Romeo Langford, the Hoosiers fought back and made it a competitive game in the second half before eventually falling.
It was a tough week for the Big Ten as a whole, as a couple teams fell out of the rankings this week.
Overall, the conference has four ranked teams with six others receiving votes this week for the top 25.
Michigan remained at no. 2, while Michigan State slid up two spots to no. 6 after their nine-point victory over Ohio State this weekend, who fell two spots to no. 16 after the loss.
As it looks with total votes, the Hoosiers next three opponents are teams ranked in the top 32.
Indiana resumes action this Friday as they travel to College Park to take on the Maryland Terrapins.
With only two teams remaining unbeaten in conference play, the Big Ten has shown to be one of the deeper and tougher leagues in the country.
