Four former Indiana Hoosiers were in action this weekend during Wildcard weekend in the NFL Playoffs.

There were four Hoosiers who strapped on the cleats and represented four different teams in the NFL Playoffs over the weekend, with three advancing to the divisional round.

For one, it ended in heartbreak as Jordan Howard and the Chicago Bears lost after their game-winning field goal hit off both the upright and the crossbar, falling short with just five seconds left.

Howard, a 2016 Pro Bowler, went for 35 rushing yards on just 10 carries in their 16-15 loss against the reining Super Bowl Champs, Philadelphia Eagles.

In what was a terrific season for Chicago, it ends in disappointment as many people had picked  the Bears to advance to the NFC Championship.

Howard’s season ends with 970 rushing yards, his first professional season under 1,000 yards, on 260 carries and nine touchdowns.

A fellow Hoosier who was on the opposite side of that result was Nate Sudfeld.

Now a backup quarterback for the Eagles, after the Carson Wentz injury, Sudfeld didn’t see any action in the game as Nick Foles led Philadelphia to victory.

Sudfeld has just one completion, out of two attempts, on the season for 22 yards and a touchdown.

In the other Wildcard matchup on Sunday, the Los Angeles Chargers took down the Baltimore Ravens 23-17.

Offensive lineman Dan Feeney, a 2017 graduate of Indiana, helped the Chargers to a road victory on Sunday as they advance to play the New England Patriots next weekend.

He was part of an offensive line that held the terrific Ravens defense to just one sack in the game.

Chris Covington, a rookie with the Dallas Cowboys, also took part in NFL Wildcard weekend, but didn’t see the field in their win against the Seattle Seahawks.

Next week, three other Hoosiers will be in action including 2017 second-team All-Pro offensive lineman Rodger Saffold of the Los Angeles Rams.
