With the Hoosier coaches heavily on the recruiting trail, let’s take a look at some of the notable performances from the past week.

College basketball isn’t the only thing sweeping through the state of Indiana, as some notable recruiting prospects are putting up big numbers so far this season.

With names like Keion Brooks, Trendon Watford and Trayce Jackson-Davis taking up the headlines, there are a few other names the Hoosiers are actively in the discussion for in the next few recruiting classes, that are opening up eyes around the state, and country, so let’s take a look.

Anthony Leal (2020 SG; Bloomington South)

The four-star guard has made a significant jump in the rankings after a very notable summer, now up to 77 in the country in the 247 composite rankings.

Albeit a slow release, Leal is a terrific shooter, shooting 41 percent from three this season. Mainly on spot up shots, he also has the ability to knock down the 10-15 footer on a pull up jumper.

Leal, at 6-foot-5, loves to use his size and strength when he gets in the paint and has the ability to finish with either hand.

In action last night against rival Bloomington North, Leal scored 23 points en route to a 70-61 victory.

Season Average: 20.3 points, 3.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.1 blocks.

Khristian Lander (2021 PG; Francis Joseph Reitz School)

One of the best prospects in the 2021 class, ranked 26 in the 247 composite rankings, Lander is a smooth lefty who controls the game on both ends of the floor.

At 6-foot-1, he isn’t going to blow you away with his size, but it is his length that makes him that much better than other guards his age. A good shooter, Lander also has the quickness to get in the lane and finish through contact.

Lander finished with 31 points (6-for-8 3pt FG), 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals in a 62-61 loss to Bedford North Lawrence on Friday.

Season Average: 22.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.8 steals
