We all know who Big Shot Rob is. What can we expect out of him going forward? Is he the future for Indiana Basketball if Romeo Langford leaves?

Robert Phinisee is a main piece of our 2018-19 puzzle. He is apart of a young freshman backcourt alongside Romeo Langford. We jumped out of our seats when we witnessed his huge shot against the Butler Bulldogs in the Crossroads Classic. We have seen flashes of brilliance from him all season long. So what can we expect when the Indiana Basketball Big Ten schedule starts getting really tough?

Let’s recap his season thus far before looking ahead.

Nothing to write home about in the statistical department. But nonetheless we will dive in and see what we can find. So far this season Phinisee is averaging 26 minutes, seven points, three assists, and three rebounds per game. That’s an average based upon him being a true freshman. But is Phinisee the answer going forward? Our answer is a resounding yes.

Looking ahead

More than likely Robert Phinisee will stay at IU. He isn’t ready in any way, shape or form to be drafted into the NBA. We like to compare Rob to Yogi Ferrell. Start out coming off the bench then slowly make your way into stardom. He has all the potential in the world in becoming an Indiana legend. It’s no secret he finished as runner up to teammate Romeo Langford for Mr. Indiana Basketball.

This kid can ball out, plain and simple. He has had three double digit games against Penn State, Louisville and Marquette. This Indiana team is full of great role players surrounded by Langford. Phinisee will take over if Romeo decides to go ahead and join the NBA. He will be a great player to hold onto as long as he wants to stay.
