As we head into a new year, we wanted to highlight five takeaways from what we have seen thus far for Indiana Basketball.

1. Romeo Langford is exactly what we expected

Langford is the only Indiana Basketball player to score double digits in each and every game this season. His lowest being against Duke and Butler (13). He has been flashy, dominating, and has lead this team all season long in points per game. While we don’t know if he will stay or leave, Langford has been everything and more to helping us get back into the Top 25. Going forward we expect him to step up his game a notch, especially if he wants to impress those NBA scouts.

2. Juwan Morgan has become a true leader

We have seen his ups and downs since his freshman year in 2015. All in all this young man has put this team on his back the past two seasons. He is averaging 16 points per game and that’s not even close to how valuable he truly is to this ball club. You can see how his teammates rally behind him in close games. Morgan has shown the Hoosier way to newcomers Phinisee and Langford. We are in good hands as the meat of our schedule is upon us.

3. Freshman and Sophomore dominance

We all know about Romeo Langford and his stellar play. What about Robert Phinisee, Al Durham and Justin Smith? These guys have been major role players to our success this season. We wouldn’t be 11-2 without these young men and their overall efforts to this ball club. 42 points per game combined with these four young phenoms. Without those points we simply wouldn’t be winning many games. We need to enjoy this group while we can. Our gut says they haven’t even reached their full potential this season just yet.
