As we say goodbye to 2018, let’s recap how our Hoosiers have fared. Indiana Basketball is on the rise heading into 2019.

Romeo Langford

We all know how big of a deal it was when Langford decided to stay here in the Hoosier State and write his own legacy in Indiana Basketball lore. He has delivered in many ways since starting his 2018-19 campaign. We want to focus on what he can work on the most. It’s no secret that Langford struggles with turnovers.

He has lead the Hoosiers in scoring all season long. With Langford being a true freshman this is a great sign of things to come as we embark on our Big Ten schedule. None of these games will be easy wins. We really need Langford to improve on his turnovers. That would catapult him into unstoppable status going forward.

Turnovers/Free throw shooting

Our Hoosiers desperately need to work on these two categories if they want to win some huge conference matchups. Big time games call for big time playmakers. We know we have the big time playmakers, but those playmakers need to really focus on not turning the ball over and improve on hitting from the charity stripe.

If we don’t work on these two key issues, then we don’t have a chance to make an impact once Big Ten play begins. The matchups we have coming up will define who we really are this season. We need to see the best out of this ball club going forward to really have a chance at making Indiana Basketball history.

Freshman Backcourt

Romeo Langford and Robert Phinisee have been just what we need to compete this season. What’s even more impressive is the fact that they are true freshman. With Langford leading the team in points per game with 17.5 and Phinisee being dubbed big shot Rob after his game winning three pointer against the Butler Bulldogs in the Crossroads Classic, this backcourt has to be one of the best in the nation.

This team overall has been lead by senior Juwan Morgan. He has been the kind of senior this ball club needs. He can lead in scoring, rebounds and assists. He can hit from the three point line or dominate in the paint. This team has all the makings of being Big Ten Champions. Hopefully, we see a lot of improvement after the holiday season. We need these young men to work on their skills so they can lead this program to great things going forward this season.
