When it comes to bowl games and bowl history, Indiana Football doesn’t have a lot going on. Nonetheless we will dive in.

Indiana Football has won only three bowl games since their existence in 1887. Wow, not a lot of meat on this chicken leg. We have appeared in 11 total bowl games and we have won just three. We did manage an appearance in the Rose Bowl back in 1967. We lost to USC 14-3.

Our three bowl victories came against BYU (1979) South Carolina (1988) and Baylor (1991). The last bowl appearance was in 2016 against Utah in the Foster Farms Bowl. Where we once again lost 26-24. So what can we be excited about? First thing we can be excited for is the current talent we have on this football team.

We can also be excited for the talent Tom Allen is bringing in for 2019. There are a lot of exciting things to come. We think Allen will lead us to multiple bowl victories going forward. He is such a dynamic coach and great recruiter. Indiana has never been known to be a powerhouse football program.

We should be very thankful of all the efforts put into this team since Allen has taken over as the Head Coach. Our back to back bowl appearances in 2015 and 2016 is just a sign of things to come. We now have all the talent to compete for a Big Ten title. Yes you read that right. We are on our way to a winning tradition here at Indiana.

With the bowl season in full swing we wanted to touch on how we have fared in years past. We also want to encourage all of Hoosier Nation for what is to come and what we have in the present. Kinda reminds me of the ghosts Scrooge encountered. We want to lift your spirits in the same ways. Don’t be a bowl Scrooge this year.
