Let’s check in on our Indiana Hoosiers. What’s in store for Indiana Basketball?

Before we play Jacksonville this weekend we wanted to touch on what could be in store for our Indiana Basketball program. The Big Ten slate is coming fast. Where do we stand? Saturday we will play the last game of the year against an opponent who doesn’t hold a candle to our overall talent. This should be another easy win.

January 3rd of 2019 will be the official start to our 2018/ 2019 Big Ten campaign. We will play host to the Illinois Fighting Illini. This should be another easy win for us at home. We don’t want to focus too much on that this early. But we have a very tough road ahead of us this season. We have to battle the Michigan Wolverines twice, Michigan State twice, and of course those other guys in Indiana twice. I think they still have a basketball program, right?

We really need to focus on our turnovers. I know we have touched on that many times, but it is the single most important thing we need to fix if we want to be competitive once the season really gets into full swing. You just saw the meat of our Big Ten schedule to come. Michigan is currently a top 5 basketball program this season.

Michigan State will always be tough. Not to mention we have a fierce football rivalry with them each and every season for the spittoon. Purdue is always a tough game regardless of records or rankings. That’s how it should be when they are our number one nemesis. Our schedule doesn’t get any easier than what it has been.

We need to take this next game and really work on the things that have held us back the most thus far this season. Turnovers, free throw shooting and playing as a complete team. We have relied too much on Romeo Langford and Juwan Morgan. Wednesday we did play as a complete team. Nonetheless we gave up 12 turnovers. We can’t win big games turning the rock over that many times.

Big Ten teams will devour us each opportunity they get. We all want to make the big dance. When the new year strikes we need to come out and play with a purpose.
