With Indiana basketball winning in a big way on Saturday, what can we look forward to Big Ten wise?

Indiana basketball was all over the media Saturday following the outcomes of the Crossroads Classic. The Hoosiers lead the media charge as Robert Phinisee nailed the game winner at the buzzer to beat Butler 71-68. Sunday Michigan State and Nebraska should win considering their easy matchups.

Looking ahead the Hoosiers will host Central Arkansas at Assembly Hall on Wednesday with a record of 9-2 and 2-0 in the Big Ten. Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin are all currently undefeated in Big Ten play. We will also host Jacksonville before hosting Illinois on January 3rd.

The Big Ten is just as competitive as ever with six teams including Indiana ranked in the AP Top 25. We really need to win these next three games at Assembly to prepare ourselves for the showdown with 5th-ranked Michigan on January 6th. That game will be played at Michigan and we all know how our Hoosiers have played on the road.

Saturday we received more confirmation that our Hoosiers are really good at closing out ballgames. They have made tremendous strides after their blowout loss to the Duke Blue Devils. Riding a four game win streak, Indiana will look to improve that to seven following the next three home games. We play so differently at home in front of Hoosier Nation.

We can’t wait to see how this big win against Butler will propel them going forward. Wins like that build a teams overall character. Juwan Morgan played out of his mind and hopefully continues his strong scoring ways. Central Arkansas and Jacksonville should be easy wins for Indiana. Illinois shouldn’t be a problem either.

Indiana’s outlook is great until we meet Michigan. That game will really set the tone for who we are going to be in the Big Ten this season. Romeo Langford will have to show more if he wants to really help this team down the stretch of the season when the games start getting even tougher.
