Indiana’s star freshman Romeo Langford earned co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week, sharing the award with Michigan freshman Iggy Brazdeikis.

It will be fun to see how many times Romeo Langford will win this award throughout the year. Romeo and Iggy seem to have a clear lead as the two best freshman in the Big Ten this year and although there are many good freshman in the conference, it seems these two will battle it out week to week for the honors.

Langford averaged 19 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists last week leading the Hoosiers to two big wins. Against Penn St. the freshman took over in the first half scoring 15 points and really taking control of the game. With the slow start the Hoosiers had, Romeo’s first half performance was extremely critical to get the win. The most impressive aspect of his performance, however, might have been the fact that it was Romeo’s first Big Ten road game.

Against Louisville, Romeo once again got the scoring going to help the Hoosiers win. Langford led the team with 21 points, and added some key assists near the end of the game to seal the victory. In yet another big game, Romeo showed out and proved why he is one of the best freshman in the game.

With only one game on the schedule, it might be difficult for Romeo to win the honor for a second straight week. If he dominates in another marquee matchup, however, don’t be surprised to see him bringing home more hardware.

As we move forward in the season look for Langford to keep asserting himself as not only the best freshman in the Big Ten, but as one of the best freshman in the nation. I’m sure Romeo will love taking home all of these honors, but his main goal will be to bring this team a Big Ten title, and hopefully more.
