What if I told you they have won more championships and have more accomplishments then our most recognized sport? Well, it’s all true and let’s give proper respect and admiration to our Hoosier men.

The Indiana Men’s soccer team beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish November 30th to advance once again to the College Cup of soccer. What does this mean for our Hoosiers? What can we expect going forward? Let’s dive in and update Hoosier Nation on what the soccer program has accomplished as a whole in it’s existence.

There are many reasons to be excited about Indiana Hoosier athletics. We all know about the long historic winning tradition of our basketball program. That’s what Indiana as a whole is known for. Being really good at basketball. But what about another sport? Could there be another sport our state is good at? The answer is a resounding yes! Let’s dive into the men’s soccer team.

The IU soccer team has accomplished many things in it’s existence. It has the most wins, best all time win percentage and has achieved eight national championships. Their National Championship years are as follows, 1982, 1983, 1988, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2004 and 2012. They have been runner-ups in 1976, 1978, 1980, 1984, 1994, 2001, and last year in 2017. This years team will want to avenge that championship loss and etch their own names in the historic record books.
