More than two dozen teams were in Bloomington for the Hoosiers pro-day and by all accounts there was a lot of talent on the field.

Ray Fisher, a player we feel is the most underrated NFL prospect in the Big Ten, looked terrific this morning in workouts. The former receiver who moved to cornerback for the 2009 season worked out at both positions today, besides catching punts, and was solid. Unofficially people have told us his forty time clocked in the low 4.3-second area. Fisher weighed 171 pounds, posted 38-inches on the vertical jump and 10′ 2” on the broad.

Linebacker Matt Mayberry also turned a few heads. Mayberry ran in the low 4.5 second area, though some watches had him as fast as 4.48 seconds, after weighing in at 235-pounds. He completed 24 reps on the bench and posted a broad jump of 9′ 11”.

Jammie Kirlew improved slightly on his forty time from the combine running in the high 4.8 second area. He also posted a 34-inch vertical jump and 9′2” broad jump after weighing in at 261 pounds.

Left tackle Rodger Saffold just participated in position drills after his terrific combine numbers. Saffold is drawing a lot of interest lately. The Cincinnati Bengals, St. Louis Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs have all been monitoring the Hoosier left tackle who could break into the second round when all is said and done.
