#5. Xavier Johnson‘s lack of performance and leadership is a big part of the problem for the Hoosiers

Some Indiana basketball fans may look at Xavier Johnson’s stat line of 11 points, 11 assists, and just two turnovers in 26 minutes of action as a positive.

I’m sorry, I’m not one of those fans. Every time X steps on the floor and is responsible for leading Indiana’s offense, bad things tend to happen. Either bad shots that happen to fall in or out-of-control drives that lead to stupid turnovers and easy run-outs for opponents.

Johnson was just 3-for-13 from the field and has struggled mightily from the field, shooting just 21.9 percent (7-for-32) from the field and 18.2 percent (2-for-11) from three-point range. And with 15 turnovers total in his last three games, it’s fair to say that I’m sure Johnson misses Jalen Hood-Schifino’s presence just as much as every Hoosier fan.
