Big Ten Power Rankings: Hoosiers close to last after Week 9
Last game: 31-0 win vs. Rutgers
Next game: Nov. 5 @ Nebraska
Oh my goodness, Mohamed Ibrahim had quite the day! Ibrahim finished with 36 carries for 159 yards and three rushing touchdowns in the dominant win over Rutgers. The only problem I have with Minnesota is that if it isn’t Ibrahim gaining yards, it’s nobody else. Tanner Morgan had just 14 pass completions for 122 yards. Yes, it wasn’t needed for him to do much else with this blowout, but he will need to step up if the Gophers expect to compete in the Big Ten West with Illinois.
The Golden Gophers look ahead to this weekend’s matchup with Nebraska on the road. Minnesota has beaten the Cornhuskers in three straight games for the first time since 1954 and is looking to win two straight in Lincoln for the first time since 1960. If the Gophers can solidify themselves with a bowl game this weekend, that would be a huge victory in my books for this season.
