Indiana football: Five questions for Tom Allen at 2022 Big Ten Media Days
#3. What are the realistic goals for the Hoosiers after last season’s drop off?
After a season where Indiana football had their worst record since 2011, the main topic of conversation every week before the season kicks off will be focused on what the thoughts and expectations are for the Hoosiers this upcoming season. This season has a lot on the line because after going 14-7 (.667) in 2019 and 2020, if IU has another losing season, pressure will turn to Tom Allen and his future.
Eight of the 12 opponents the Hoosiers are facing this season finished above .500 last season, with four of the 12 opponents this season ranked in the NCAA Way-too-early Preseason Top 25. If Tom Allen (26 wins) is able to win six games this season, and reach a bowl game, he will move into the top five of Indiana football coaches for the fifth most wins in program history, passing James Horne (30) and John Pont (31).
