Indiana vs Penn State Odds: Line, Spread, Over/Under

After a disappointing 18-point loss to Michigan, the Indiana Hoosiers look to right the ship as they host the Penn State Nittany Lions tonight at 8:30 PM EST. WynnBET has the Hoosiers as 8.5-point favorites and -390 on the moneyline (bet $39 to win $10) while the over-under is 127.

Penn State emerged victorious against Indiana earlier this month 61-58. Should we expect more of the same or are the Hoosiers poised for revenge?

Indiana vs Penn State Prediction

You can expect Indiana to come out angry in this one. After suffering their first home loss of the season, Head Coach Mike Woodson will have his guys fired up with revenge on their minds.

The Hoosiers just couldn’t get their shots to go against Michigan, shooting just 5-of-19 from beyond the arc as they tried to keep pace with an opponent that couldn’t miss. Luckily for Indiana, Penn State ranks just 161st nationally in 3-point shooting and prefer to play a slow, low-scoring game.

With the 347th-fastest adjusted tempo, per Bart Torvik, Penn State relies on the 93rd-ranked 2-point shooting offense to score. That fits right into the Hoosiers’ plans, as their 7th-ranked 2-point defense smothers opponents behind the stellar play of star big man Trayce Jackson-Davis.

Indiana is still a sparking 9-1 against the spread over their last 10 home games, but come in having covered just once in their last four games overall. Penn State, meanwhile, has covered in six of their last seven despite a two-game losing streak.

I think Indiana wins this game and gets back on track, but I’m weary of an 8.5-point spread in a conference game with a total at just 127, especially against a team that already has a win over the Hoosiers this season. Unless Indiana’s shooters get going, it will be difficult to cover such a large line.

I’d make this game closer to a 6-point spread, so as reluctant as I am to say it, I have to hold my nose and go with the Nittany Lions +8.5.
