Indiana vs Purdue Odds: Line, Spread, Over/Under

The 13-4 Indiana Hoosiers host the 15-2 Purdue Boilermakers tonight at 6:00 PM CST. WynnBET has the Hoosiers as 3.5-point underdogs and +150 on the moneyline ($10 to win $15) while Purdue is -180 ($18 to win $10). The over/under is 140.5.

Indiana vs Purdue Prediction Tonight

Ah, Assembly Hall. With one of the best home-court advantages in America, Indiana will be absolutely rocking tonight as the Hoosiers look for a marquee win over the upstart Boilermakers. With one of the best offenses in the country, Purdue and star guard Jaden Ivey will look to silence the home crowd and send them back to class in the morning disappointed.

However, Indiana has the defense that can challenge Purdue. They possess the 3rd-best effective field goal percentage defense in the country. With Trayce Jackson-Davis and his 2.9 blocks per game at the helm, they force offenses into tough shots and don’t give up many second-chance points (31st nationally in defensive rebounding rate).

The Hoosiers are especially fierce at home, where they boast a perfect 11-0 record this season and are likely skipping class today in preparation for tonight anyway.

Purdue has struggled a bit of late after their dominant start, going just 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games. Against an Indiana team seeking a signature win, the Boilermakers are in for a dogfight.

Despite boasting an offense that ranks 8th nationally in 2-point shooting and 5th in 3-point shooting per Bart Torvik, I expect Purdue to slow the game down and try take the crowd out of the equation. They’ll want to generate quality shots against this tough Indiana defense and prevent turnovers.

Indiana doesn’t generate many turnovers anyway (254th in defensive turnover rate), as length is their strength that lets them keep an offense uncomfortable by challenging every shot. This will be the best defense Purdue has faced this season and with a ferocious crowd in their face, Purdue will struggle to execute their offensive sets.

This should be a battle that comes down to the wire and Indiana is a live dog. After all, it’s the first time they’re not favored at Assembly Hall since February of last year. Given the importance of this game and the styles they’ll play, I love the under 140.5 but will also be playing Indiana +3.5. Even if Purdue pulls out the win, it will be a close one.
