Indiana Basketball: 3 takeaways from loss vs Wisconsin
Bright spots
There were very few positive aspects of this game for Indiana, but one of them was Al Durham getting a little flow on offense.
Durham finished with 17 points on 3-of-4 from three and 8-of-8 from the foul line. He showed nice aggressiveness several times on his way to the basket. Averaging just 8.5 points in his last four games, including going 2-of-11 from three, it was a nice confidence booster moving forward.
Devonte Green also had some nice moments. He finished with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists, but had been dealing with a tweaked ankle he suffered towards the end of the Florida State game.
Other than that, the recap of the game is bleak. The main positive for Indiana and its fan base is that the game is over. Hopefully, that will be the worst performance the Hooisers have all season.
After coasting through their first seven games and playing well against Florida State, this is the first real adversity Indiana has had thus far. Facing this type of adversity could potentially be good for them in the long run, if you look at it through the lens of positivity.
The past is the past, and Indiana has a chance to rebound on Tuesday against Connecticut in Madison Square Garden.
Hopefully they can get it together and come prepared for a nationally televised game, but as the sun sets on Saturday, the 20-year winless stretch for Indiana in Madison continues. One can’t help catching a faint whiff of last year’s flip-flopping Hoosiers.
