Indiana Basketball: 5 takeaways from scrimmage vs Marquette

4. Jerome Hunter Continues to Impress
Again, it’s difficult to tell just how good Jerome Hunter looked in Sunday’s scrimmage against Marquette, but by the stats, it could be time to raise the expectations just a little for what he may be able to do this season.
Granted I still don’t believe you can expect too much out of Hunter this season, his ability to play 10-15 minutes a game off of the bench will completely change Indiana’s outlook for the season.
With seven points and two rebounds in 14 minutes, Hunter went 2-for-3 from the field, 1-for-2 from three, and 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
As many people have discussed, Hunter’s shooting ability is something that Indiana missed last season. At 6-foot-7, Hunter has the ability, in certain lineups, to play a stretch four type forward, allowing for great floor spacing but also could give IU the option to play with two or three bigs and use a bigger lineup with him at the two, opening up the floor.
Obviously rust is expected and his four turnovers and no assists are a testament to that, but again after not playing for nearly two years, that is to be expected.
