Khristian Lander

Archie Miller has a track record of landing Indiana Mr. Basketballs, and Khristian Lander seems likely to earn that title in 2021.

Lander, a 6-foot-1 point guard from Evansville, rose up to 11th on 247Sports’ recently updated 2021 rankings. He has great quickness and bounce that pairs with a tight handle and an increasingly improving jumpshot. He has the potential to be an immediate impact freshman.

Lander said this Summer that the Indiana coaching staff was talking to him two-to-three times per week, showing Indiana’s priority of him.

The young point guard played for the Indiana Elite on the Adidas Gauntlet alongside IU commits Trey Galloway and Anthony Leal, and developed some chemistry with both of them.

Indiana’s main competition for Lander at this point appears to be Chris Mack and the Louisville Cardinals. He is both schools’ top priority in the class, and it will be interesting to see how his recruitment pans out the rest of the way.

Simply put, Lander is huge for Indiana because he is the best player in a loaded in-state class. It’s no surprise to anyone that Hoosier fans don’t enjoy watching Indiana Mr. Basketballs play for rival teams. It is called the Hoosier State, after all.

Lander is slated to visit Bloomington in October, along with his AAU teammates Leal and Galloway.
